AQUARIUM FABRICATION FAQ
A: Acrylic aquariums are able to withstand breakage due to their chemical bonds and impact resistant material. They provide far more clarity than glass and retain water temperature for a longer period of time, thus reducing the energy cost for temperature control. While durable, acrylic is not scratch resistant and must be maintained with the proper tools. If scratching does occur, it can easily be buffed out.
Glass aquariums are much more scratch resistant but do present a bit more fragility over time. This material is typically sought after for aquariums that require rigorous cleaning regiments like SPS reefs and planted aquariums due to their high-output lighting systems.
A: Typically, our lead times for custom aquariums are between 4 to 6 weeks. Smaller aquariums (less than 300 gallons) are prefabricated for over 2 dozen different sizes and are ready for immediate delivery!
